“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

In my 30 years of experience in education, I have taught in the public school and private settings. I maintain a Single Subject California Teaching Credential in English. My specific experience includes ten years teaching in the public school middle school and high school classroom setting, grades 7 – 12, in both the English and history subject areas.

When I began homeschooling my own children, I facilitated a small, private co-op. It was during this time that I began to research and solidify my understanding of and alignment with principles of classical education. My family participated in Classical Conversations for five years, and I served in several tutoring and leadership roles. Each experience provided a rich time of learning and practicing. My children gleaned a firm academic foundation at home and then continued their education in a public school setting, where they learned valuable life skills and excelled in their studies. They are now thriving in college.

As for me, I graduated from the CiRCE Institute’s Apprenticeship Program, where I enjoyed studying great books and refined my writing skills with a cohort of other eager learners while under the mentorship of those further along in their journeys. I am excited to work with other families in the midst of their educational adventures. My varied experience provides me with a breadth and depth of understanding to support families in their efforts to provide the best possible education for their children. This is how I am choosing to spend this season of my life. I look forward to encouraging your family!
